Inspirational Photos

Here are some inspirational photos that inspired me in making this project. It all started out with the blue footed booby bird. When I saw that I instantly knew he would make a cute goofy bird character. After that, I came up with a flamingo as his sidekick.  After that, I saw some beautiful and visually cute illustrations after doing research. Here are some photos that spurred my thinking and helped me shape it thus far.  

                                                   I fell in love with these little weird birds they are
                                                   called blue footed booby birds.

                                                          After seeing the blue footed booby birds,
                                                           I thought he would need another odd buddy one
                                                           who was different in shape.

                                                  The next three background pieces are excellent in color
                                                   I loved the warmth and the fun energy they
                                                   brought to the scene.

 

 

I started exploring and researching animal character designs. 

I started drawing my sketches and they were kind of complicated for puppet design. 

So, I decided to research more simplistic approaches. I loved the designs below. They had 

a special charm and yet, they were simplistic and effective for puppet design. The one 

directly beneath is an example of how I would love the film to look. Simple in style and also using bright colors. The characters are also simple and I would love to go for that style and type of color.
