Rough Digital Boards

The last two days I have been working hard on my storyboards.  I'm always very sketchy in the beginning .I am going back today, cleaning them up and making a second set that is strictly story reel and not animatic.  I ended up making them almost animatic storyboards.  But, the good thing is it still worked and looked nice.  I like doing animatic work because, it allows me to see where my characters will be next and where they will be placed. It was more work but, it worked well. So, what I have been doing now after I got these done is I went to this artist's blog. His name is Toby Shelton. If you haven't heard of him you have to look him up. He is an amazing storyboard artist. His boards are wonderful to look at. I picked up a few tips that have been helping me, when I looked at his boards.  So, with that artist in mind I'm making sure my boards are storyboards not animatic and I'm going to practice making sure that I don't make too much work for myself.   But, anyways before I ramble too much, here's his blog site. -> http://tobyshelton.blogspot.com/

Good Progress! :)

I just finished all my boards digitally but, I'm cleaning them up and then, I will be putting the story reel together.  So, I'm going to be striving hard this week to get this all done.  The good thing is I got a lot of the hard work out of the way.  I've started also putting my presentation together today, so that, is a good thing.   Wish me luck, it is still going to be a really busy week for me. I'm very happy with the work that I did the last few days and trust me it is much better than those paper boards I have up right now. Stay tuned.

2nd rough draft storyboards and 1st draft story reel

I completed another rough set 2nd rough draft boards on paper today.  I  won't be posting them because, I will be making them digital in photoshop. I will be working on my storyreel. I will make them much more presentable.  These new digital boards will be the version of my project that I will be presenting to my senior project class.  I begin classes on the 26th of August and  all I have left to do is create a story reel, finish my character turnarounds,  and then, pull together my presentation and practice. So, I'm almost there, I just got to polish everything up.  At the rate I am going, I think I will finish if, I work diligently. It also works out well because, I am not working nearly as much at work next week and the week after that I am taking my one week vacation to use to get ready for school.  So, it will be busy but, I think I will make it. Really Rough Draft Storyboards #1

Today, I finished my first set of rough storyboards on paper.  I will be making these digitally on Monday when I can get into the lab and work on the computers there.  So far, I've managed to keep it simple, with minimal background elements and a minimal amount of cuts. Now, I will say these are really rough and I forgot to mention some areas where things are going on but, I guess its my brainstorming page :).  I'm glad that it worked out so well.  I had fun and I will be posting my paper storyboards they will be hard to read and are kind of really rough and sketchy but, they are there.  There's still lots of work to do. I only had selected paper because, my parents printer didn't have color so I have a mixture of both copied paper and pink paper.
