Thank you!

I just wanted to say a special thank you shout out to Lucas Esch and Sam Kubina! They have been helping me with my project.  Lucas helped so much with the story and helped make it great and Sam is helping with the soundtrack.  I appreciate both of your help on this project! I am going to be meeting with a film student this week and I may have myself a foley artist.  They will be helping me add sound to my app.  Its going to be a great semester but, also one with a lot of work.  Oh, here we go.

Production Pitch

Tonight I gave my production pitch.  It went well.  :)  I have pretty much everything in place to begin the production of my project.  I created the production schedule, the style guide, and a demo scene.  It will be a busy semester I can say that but, it will be worth it. I plan to get my spreadsheets done, a coloring activity, and to show a menu featuring the activities that people can play.  I will compose this project into a trailer for the app.  I will be striving to get the book finished and a few activities. After graduation, I will finish the activity pages that will feature games such as, hide and seek, and a pin the tail game.  :) I'm really excited but, also nervous about the workload.  I'm ready to work hard! Thank you to all who have visited my blog.  It's a project in the works and I'm excited to see where this goes.

Here is a demo showing off some of the animation that will be on the page.  I will be putting it into the program soon.  Here it is.

Test Work-02

Here's what happens when you touch it's wings:

Here's two different animations of the bat flying in space as the text is reading or it will be just after.

Here's the star animations: The second is the swipe and drag and the other is if the user touches it and then touches it a second time.

Test Work-01

Here are some test animations. I am still adding highlights to the bat.  But, here are some different things that I have been working on.

Here is an image of the scene before I added the highlights.

Here is the "Peekaboo" effect for this page.  If you touch the bats main body, he will switch to this expression.

Here's a little test animation of what happens when you touch the bat's ear:
I appologize for the low quality. The final outlook will not look like that.

Great News!

I have been looking for a sound artist and I may have finally found one! We're thinking piano and flute sounding musical pieces for the app.  I will keep you updated on this process. I'm so thankful that I have finally found one.

Preparing animations for the demo scene

My demo scene is almost ready to be all put into the program. All of my animation is completed for the first demo scene of the last page of the book.  I just need to add some shadows and highlights then, I will be preparing it to put it into the program.  I got to find sound and all that fun stuff as well. :) Here's just a little screenshot.

Plans for the Future

I have been really interested in creating printed books for this project, as well as creating an i-book. This would happen well after graduation. I thought about doing a kickstarter to raise money for the printing of this book.  I will be talking with my professors about it.  But, it's definitely on my to-do list. :)

Interactive Touch Books- Demo

I've just began in late November using Interactive Touch Books.  I followed through with the tutorials and I created a little demo to show that I understand the process of making an interactive touch book.  Here's some of my work from it. I would show the link but, It is still in the making so, I will show you some examples of different things of my work.

Rough Book Thumbnail Upload

Here is a picture of the first scene that I worked on.

Here are some screen shots of me using the program :)

 Working on the Title Description.

Here's the layout of my page so far.
Here' my page in preview mode.

Here is a test video (note: this is before it was fully completed)
This is what the final version would look like. It will be colored with colored linework and the background elements will be line-less depending on certain items.   I animated the bat flapping its wing when it was touched, I animated the clouds moving, and I added text and sound.
I will be doing a full rendition of this scene for my j-term independent study.

Final Linework- Spreadsheets

Here is the final line work for my spreadsheets. After lots of revisions, they are done.  I will be adding tone hopefully.  The next stages of my project will be: creating color keys, finishing the activities pages for the spreadsheets, and finishing working on my demo scene.  I am getting excited! :) I won't be revealing the text for creative purposes, until the book is released.
